Brothers,
John and I hope this letter finds you well. We have a few updates to share with you all from the White House. The past few months have been exciting and busy for the Chapter with good news to share.
First, a huge congratulations to our recent graduates: Adam Lewis, Aidan Miller, Alec Lanzas, Brett Loren, Harrison Cooper, Joe Kenny, Lucas Collins, Patrick Kozlowski, Philippe Didisheim, Rob Winslow, Spencer Winston, Teddy Snyder, Trey Tanjuatco, Troy Merchel, and Yates Kline. We wish them all the best as they begin their careers and would to thank them for their contributions to the fraternity throughout a period of uncertainty. We hope they will look back on their time at Carolina with fond memories of the house and the chapter. You can find some graduation pictures of the Class of 2021 on our new Facebook page. If you have not joined the page, please do so by following the link at the end of this letter, or by searching “Chi Phi Alpha-Alpha Alumni.” We hope this page will serve as a community for alumni to interact and share memories from their time here as well as an easy way to stay up to date on the Chapter’s activity.
Secondly, the University announced in June that all gathering and event limits will be lifted for the 2021-2022 school year. This is great news, as it allows us to return to hosting events at the house including the upcoming fall recruitment. We look forward to the always exciting recruitment period when we get to welcome a new group of young men to our special brotherhood. We would like to continue to ask for your support in adding to our rush list. If you know of any rising freshmen coming to UNC, please reach out to us with their contact information, so we can get them on our radar.
The announcement also confirms our Alumni Weekend for the weekend of October 9th-11th (Columbus Day). As this is our first one in a few years, we are really excited to connect with all of you that are attending. We are also happy to announce that we are allowed to park cars on our front lawn once again for our tailgate as the Heels take on the Florida State Seminoles. Kenan Stadium will be at 100% capacity for those of you planning to attend the game. More details on that weekend will follow soon in a separate newsletter however please be sure to circle your calendars for the weekend of October 9th.
These past few months have also brought change to the staff in our house. Earlier this summer, we were very sad to part ways with our long-time chef, Mary Moss. Over the course of her 20+ year run with the Chapter, she made many lasting relationships and memories with the brothers. We would like to thank her for her years of service and wish her the best in her future. We are excited to share that we recently hired Mark Jones to fill the role. Previously, Mark owned a restaurant and catering business and was later the chef at the Phi Mu sorority house for many years. We are very excited to welcome him to the house this fall and hope many of you have the opportunity to meet him if you are in the area. We are also sad to say goodbye to Nick Carlton, our live-in advisor, as he is leaving to pursue a career as an EMT. We are actively searching for his successor and expect to have a suitable replacement soon.
As always, feel free to reach out to us anytime. Thank you for your support of the Chapter and we look forward to seeing many of you soon.
In Brotherhood,
Carter Dickinson – House Manager and Alumni Chairman
