A Letter From Bo Rieker: Alumni Weekend 2021
Brothers of Chi Phi,
My name is Bo Rieker and I am going into my junior year at UNC. I currently serve as the chapter Social Chair and also as a member of the alumni committee. John Love and Carter Dickinson have already shared some information about Alumni weekend through past emails, but I am extremely excited to officially extend the invitation to join us in Chapel Hill on the weekend of October 8th and 9th for Alumni Weekend. Planning for this event began this past spring and we are extremely excited to welcome you back to the house in October.
For those who will be in Chapel Hill on Friday, we invite you to join us for drinks that evening at Pantana Bob’s. Before the game on Saturday, all alumni and their families are welcome to join us for a tailgate on the front yard. Parking will be available at the house on both the front yard and in the back parking lot on a first-come basis. The exact game time has not been released yet but we will be having an off-duty Chapel Hill police officer directing traffic onto the front lawn before the game begins. Please plan to arrive early if you would like to park your vehicle on the front lawn.
Around three hours prior to the game beginning, we will have The Barons performing for us. They are one of the premier college bands in the country and we are very excited to have them in Chapel Hill that weekend. They are a rock and roll band hailing from Charlottesville, Virginia. Our new chef, Mark Jones, will be cooking food for everyone as well. We have also planned for golf at Finley golf course on Sunday. If you would like to play, please email Carter ([email protected]) by September 1st. Please include your handicap as we will be organizing a game for everyone. If you would like to be paired with someone specific please also communicate that in your email.
If you are planning on joining us for Alumni Weekend, please RSVP at the link below by October 2nd so that we may plan accordingly. We kindly ask that you consider donating $50 to help cover the costs of the weekend (i.e. band, food and beverage, an off-duty police officer for parking purposes). In order to donate, please Venmo our treasurer Chase Lober (@ChaseLober) with the subject line “2021 Chi Phi Alumni Weekend.” If you would like to donate some other way, please feel free to reach out and we can accommodate.
